Wireless
Wireless service with coverage in the Southfork area is provided by numerous companies including
AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
Note that with all wireless options, the location within the neighborhood will affect reception.
Those on the east slope may experience issues as most of the provider antennas are west of here,
and this places east slope homes in the "shadow" of the hill.
Internet
Internet telephone service (a.k.a. VoIP - Voice over Internet Protocol) is available through
various providers, some of which are listed below. Note that to use this service, you must have
an internet connection of sufficient bandwidth (see the Internet menu item for internet service
providers). These internet telephone services can offer features and cost options that are very
attractive (particularly to frequent international callers), but potential users should be aware
of possible limitations: Requires continuous internet availability, may have voice quality issues
or voice latency (caused by internet delays), and availability of emergency 911 service. Be sure
to thoroughly check out your options and read service reviews to see which provider is right for
you.
